1. Getting ready
Practical help with clothing, belongings, appointment letters, mobility equipment and leaving home comfortably.
A familiar person. A more accessible journey.
For Help to Live clients, from your front door to appointments, dementia day services and home again. Familiar support throughout the journey—not an accessible taxi service.

Support for the whole journey
Getting ready, travelling together and settling back at home. We can plan the visit around the support that makes a difference to you.
Our wheelchair-accessible vehicle gives us another way to help clients stay connected with healthcare, wellbeing and everyday life.
Before confirming a journey, we will talk through the wheelchair, access at the collection and destination addresses, timings and the support wanted. That helps us decide whether the vehicle and service are suitable for the individual journey.
One joined-up visit
The exact arrangements are agreed in advance. A typical journey may include some or all of the following.
Practical help with clothing, belongings, appointment letters, mobility equipment and leaving home comfortably.
Accessing the vehicle, travelling to the destination and receiving the agreed support throughout the journey.
Returning safely, getting settled, preparing a drink or light meal, and completing other agreed home-support tasks.
Journeys that matter
Subject to availability, suitability and the agreed support plan, journeys may include:
Our accessible vehicle is exclusively for Help to Live clients as part of their agreed support. It is not an accessible taxi service or clinical patient transport. Suitability, access requirements and availability are agreed before the journey.
Planning your support
Wheelchairs, access routes and destinations vary. A short conversation helps us plan safely and avoid surprises.
The vehicle is designed to accommodate wheelchair users. Suitability depends on the specific wheelchair, occupant needs and safe securing arrangements, which we will discuss before confirming a journey.
Where requested, appropriate and agreed in advance, support can include accompanying the client at the destination.
Waiting and return arrangements are agreed as part of your support plan so sufficient time can be allowed.
