About us
Help to Live was founded by Debbie Prescott-Wiggins over ten years ago with one simple belief: everyone deserves to stay independent in the place they call home.
What started as a home help service has grown into something much more — shaped by our clients, driven by Debbie's refusal to do anything by halves.
We don't work like a traditional care company. No rigid frameworks. No stretched systems. No one-size-fits-all. Just flexible, tailored support built entirely around you — from home-cooked meals and household chores to social outings and appointments. Whatever you need, whenever you need it.
And despite everything we've become, we've never lost what made us. Debbie is still hands-on, still in the room, still holding the standard she set on day one. That's why so many families trust us — and keep trusting us.
In December 2025, we registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and were assessed as likely to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led — ticking every box, first time.
What do our clients say?
Don’t just take our word for it. Below is a small selection of testimonials from our clients, many of whom have been with us for years.

"Personal service with a smile"
"We’ve tried care companies before but they are frequently short on time, late or sometimes dont even turn up. None have been as warm and accommodating as Help to Live.
Debbie still pops in herself from time to time, and that says a lot."

"Flexible, helpful, and so kind"
"I’ve needed varying levels of support and they’ve adapted without any fuss.
Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, changing the bedding, or taking me to the barbers for my monthly hot towel shave and haircut, they’re always happy to help.
After my knee surgery they were able to increase their visits to twice a day whilst I recovered ensuring I was washed, fed and watered until I was back up and running, mobile and safe. I am so grateful to have such a reliable team for support"

"Support we can trust"
"My father has been using Help to Live for over a year now after a bad fall and we’ve never looked back.
I live an hour away and have a young family so it really concerned me that my farther was starting to need more help than I was able to provide.
Debbie and her team are dependable, compassionate, and always go above and beyond. I know he's being taken to his appointments and he seems to eat better than i do!"

"Exactly the help I needed"
"I've been a client of Debbie's since 2018. As someone younger who values my independence, I really appreciate that Help to Live support me to keep doing things my way.
My disability means some of the general household chores are too difficult for me to do, so I have a weekly visit to change the bed, clean the house and empty the bins. Occasionally if I need additional support they are always really accommodating and nothing is too much trouble"
